“I see gardening as a collaboration between myself, the customer and the garden itself.”

Hello! I'm Hannah, a gardener based in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

I've always felt drawn to nature, finding inspiration in the natural world and a sense of connection in being outdoors. Over time, that connection grew into something I wanted to share with others.

For me, gardening is about so much more than keeping a garden tidy. It's about creating spaces that bring joy, giving plants the care they need to thrive, and making room for the wildlife that shares our gardens with us.

Flores Gardening grew out of a desire to build something of my own, here in the part of Wales I call home. After volunteering on permaculture farms in South America, working in stately homes in Hampshire, and tending to my own gardens in London, I felt it was time to bring my passion back to South Wales. I wanted to help others enjoy their gardens and outdoor spaces, whatever their needs or ambitions for them.

My approach is ecological and wildlife-friendly wherever possible. I believe our gardens can be beautiful, useful and full of life, whether through thoughtful planting, caring for established borders, encouraging pollinators, or finding a balance between a well-loved garden and the natural world.

I see gardening as a collaboration between myself, the customer and the garden itself. Every space has its own character, and I love the process of understanding what makes a garden special and helping it flourish in a way that works for both the people who enjoy it and the wildlife that calls it home.

I'd love to hear about your garden and explore how we can help it flourish together!

Our approach

Well cared for.
Full of life.

A lovely garden has more going on than meets the eye. We make room for the birds, bees and other small lives that help it thrive.

  • Keep something for the wildlife

Where you’re happy to, we leave some seedheads and hollow stems standing over winter for birds and overwintering insects.

  • Check before cutting

We look for active nests before trimming and plan bigger hedge cuts around the nesting season.

  • Plant with a purpose

Suggestions for flowers that feed bees and other pollinators across the seasons, chosen to suit your soil and light.

  • Make room in the right places

A leaf pile, log heap or patch of longer grass can sit quietly alongside a neat lawn and borders.

How wild you go is always up to you.

Care through the year

Every season has its jobs.

We plan the work around what your garden needs now, and what will help it in the months ahead.

September to November

Tidying up without tidying everything away.

  • Selective cutbacksSpent growth cleared, good seedheads left standing for birds.
  • Leaf clearingLawns and paths cleared; leaves can be piled for leaf mould.
  • Bulb plantingSpring bulbs in for early food for bees.
  • ClearancesA good time to reset an overgrown garden before winter.

A few practical details

Before we get growing.

Can I book a one-off visit?

Yes. We can help with a specific job or an overgrown garden, as well as regular fortnightly, monthly or seasonal care. Tell us what needs doing and we’ll suggest a sensible starting point.

How much will it cost?

Every garden needs something different. We’ll discuss the work and arrange a look at the garden where needed, then give you a quote with the scope and any extras clearly set out.

Do you take away the green waste?

Green-waste arrangements are agreed as part of your quote. Removal is not automatically included; we’ll discuss what can stay on site and what needs to be taken away.

Does wildlife-friendly mean leaving everything wild?

No. A garden can have clear paths, neat edges and space for nature. We’ll discuss where you want a tidy finish and where a few seedheads, flowers or a sheltered corner could help wildlife.
